They measure your interaction with the Kubiya platform, primarily reflecting the LLM tool calling and classification tasks executed by your AI agents. This system allows for transparent and predictable cost management, as you only pay for the resources you consume. We encourage you to contact us to discuss how FCUs apply to your specific workflows.
How are FCUs different from tokens?
While tokens typically measure the volume of text input and output to an LLM, FCUs provide a more comprehensive measure of the work done. FCUs specifically account for the operational aspects of AI agents, such as invoking tools, running classification tasks, and managing state during complex workflows. This approach offers a clearer picture of actual platform usage and value generated, rather than just text processing volume. Our system tracks FCU consumption to help you predict costs effectively.
How does it work if I bring in my own agents created using Langraph, CrewAI, OpenAI Assistants SDK, etc?
When integrating your existing agents with Kubiya, there are additional considerations beyond standard FCUs. The Kubiya Orchestration Engine leverages multi-agent collaboration and deep context understanding, which requires additional tool calls by our composition framework. It also requires additional model context for the Kubiya contextual graph RAG to embrace your agents' capabilities and make them highly available and context-aware. This infrastructure involves deep networking, vector management, and state synchronization across agents, which is accounted for in your plan's pricing. The Enterprise plan offers more flexibility for these complex integration scenarios.
